PRWC » Former detachment commander of Barangay Cansalungon, Isabela meted justice for land grabbing and murder of farmers

Following a guilty verdict from the people’s revolutionary court, Rodulfo Fajardo, a former detachment commander (1985-1986) of Barangay Cansalungon, Isabela, Negros Occidental has meted justice by the Romeo Nanta Command-New People’s Army-(RNC-NPA) yesterday, April 12, at around 4:15 in the afternoon.

Convicted of large-scale land grabbing, multiple counts of murder, and grave abuse of authority, his case marks a definitive stand against exploitation, particularly against peasants and farmworkers.

He used his position, influence and armed forces to seize farmlands and livestock through threats and force across several communities. These lands had been tilled and owned by generations of local families, their only source of life and livelihood. Hundreds were displaced, left with no means to feed their households, all while Fajardo operated with total impunity for years.

Farmers who refused to surrender their property or dared to speak out were deliberately targeted. At least 14 peasants were killed in cold blood—victims of massacres, arson attacks and extrajudicial killings. Residents of Isabela’s hinterlands named Fajardo as the mastermind of these bloody crimes: he ordered his troops to attack farmers, and even pulled the trigger himself.

Fajardo was also one of the key organizers of the armed group ALSA MASA in the area, with a long record of opposing the revolutionary movement.

For decades, the NPA and the Party continue to build revolutionary government across the countryside where impunity has no place. The recent implementation of revolutionary justice by the NPA reflects its mandate to uphold justice and protect the masses against any form of oppression and exploitation.

Families of the victims have warmly welcomed this development, for it finally delivers the long-denied justice they have yearned for through years of suffering and struggle.

Meanwhile, the revolutionary court’s verdict on Fajardo continues to send a clear message that exploitation and oppression will never be tolerated by the revolutionary movement.

RNC-NPA issues a stern warning to the AFP, CAA, SCAA, PNP, paramilitary, and all the anti-social elements: Justice will reach those who chooses to do harm, and accountability will be demanded from all who exploit the people for their own gain. Stop all illegal and oppressive activities immediately.
