“The modern-day Holocaust is carried out daily by the US-supported Zionist Israeli regime, in full view of the world. No false claim to indigenous ties—shrouded in religious justification—can hide the reality: Israel is a barbaric colonial occupier that must be held accountable, alongside its imperialist patron, the United States.”
Thus declares Christians for National Liberation (CNL), the underground revolutionary political organization of Christians, in strongest condemnation of the nearly two-year genocidal assault on Palestine by the Zionist Israeli state, fully propped up by US imperialism. CNL calls for justice and accountability for the war crimes and daily carnage of the Palestinian people.
Christians who truly uphold social justice and liberation cannot turn a blind eye to the systemic violence and oppression committed by the US-Israel unholy alliance. As stated in A Commentary on the Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church, published by CNL:
“A Christian can’t help but become revolutionary in pursuing God’s Kingdom as the Reign of truth, justice, peace, love, equality, and liberation.”
The Bible is being weaponized to justify genocide, and to reject calls for ceasefire and humanitarian aid. The so-called Gaza Humanitarian Foundation has become a façade to deliberately starve and kill Palestinians. Israeli Prime Minister and war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu invokes scripture—specifically the Book of Joshua—to declare that “this is a time for war.” But Israel does not follow the God of justice and liberation revealed in the Bible. Instead, it worships the idols of empire: wealth, domination, and militarized power.
The US-Zionist alliance is not the biblical Israel that entered into covenant with the liberating God to be a “light for all nations” (Isaiah 42:6). That calling was meant to embody spiritual and moral rectitude—not genocidal warfare. If Israel truly followed that calling, it would not justify mass killings nor equate the Palestinian people with Amalek, a biblical enemy allegedly destined for annihilation.
Since 7 October 2023, the US-backed Zionist Israeli government has launched a relentless assault on Gaza and the West Bank. Over 61,000 Palestinians—many of them women and children—have been killed or maimed. Homes, hospitals, universities, museums, and places of worship lie in ruins.
Israel’s genocidal actions have resulted in catastrophic humanitarian consequences. Over 18,000 children and 12,400 women have been killed, with more than 4,500 amputations (18% involving children) and tens of thousands of orphans. Deliberate starvation tactics or genocide by starvation—including blockade of food, water, and medical supplies—have caused the deaths of 240 people, including 107 children. Since May 27, a total of 1,898 Palestinians have been killed and 14,113 more injured as they tried to access much needed aid. The health system has collapsed: 94% of hospitals are damaged or destroyed, 364 attacks on medical facilities have been recorded, and hundreds of health workers have been killed, tortured, or detained. These are blatant violations of international humanitarian law, including attacks on hospitals and denial of care, amounting to war crimes.
Journalists attempting to expose these atrocities have also become targets. At least 237 journalists have been killed since the genocide began—most recently, Al Jazeera’s Anas al-Sharif and several colleagues, murdered on 10 August 2025 to silence coverage ahead of Israel’s full-scale ground invasion of Gaza.
The Palestinian people have resisted their dispossession and occupation since the 1947-1948 Nakba, when they were violently expelled from their ancestral lands to make way for the settler-colonial project now known as the State of Israel. The US has consistently backed this project. In 1967, Israel seized even more land, and since then has subjected Palestinians to a brutal regime of apartheid, surveillance, and daily humiliation.
In the face of such systemic and violent oppression, the Palestinian people’s resistance—including armed resistance—is a defense of their very right to exist in their own homeland. The Palestinians’ struggle for national liberation deserves our utmost support.
Democratic forces and justice-loving peoples around the world must continue to unite in the strongest condemnation of the US-Israel axis of imperialist war. Justice must be served for the thousands of martyrs of this war. The war criminals—Netanyahu, his regime, and their backers in Washington—must be held accountable for these atrocities. Reparations must be made to the victims.
The genocide of the Palestinian people must stop. The occupation must end. The world must stand with the Palestinian people’s just and heroic struggle for national liberation.
Free Palestine!
End the US-Israel occupation of Palestine!
Down with US imperialism and Zionism!
Long live proletarian international solidarity!
