Oplan Bantay Laya is martial law in the time of Gloria Arroyo

No amount of denial by the Arroyo regime could refute the fact that there is de facto martial law in our midst today. Signs of the Martial Law period are evident in the wails and cries of justice of thousands of victims of extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, torture, harassments and other human rights violations of the Arroyo regime.

The human rights violations that took place during Marcos's time, 37 years ago, are again perpetuated under the fascist regime of Gloria Arroyo, with a much bolder and more vicious twist.

What's keeping the Arroyo regime scot-free of its crimes against the people is the support of corrupt generals of the mercenary Armed Forces of the Philippines. Many of those who occupied top posts in the AFP are members of Philippine Military Academy class 1978, of which Mrs. Arroyo is an 'adopted member'.

Among these PMAers include Philippine Army Rear Adm. Victor Martir (Philippine Navy/Intelligence), Commodore EfrenTedor (Deputy Intelligence, PN), Maj. Gen. Carlos Holganza (Chief of Operations), Maj. Gen. Jonathan Martir (Philippine Marines), Maj. Gen. Sealana (Civil Military Relations, PA) Brig. Gen. Gregorio Paduganan (DND-BAC Chairman; Philippine Air Force), Maj. Gen. Rudyval Cabading (PA), Maj. Gen. Romeo Prestoza — (Chief of Intelligence Service), Brig. Gen. Celedonio Boquiren (Chief of Engineers, PAF), Lt. Gen. Delfin Bangit (Commanding General, Philippine Army), Maj. Gen. Roland Detabali (CG, Southern Luzon Command), Maj. Gen. Romeo Lustecteca (CG, 1st Infantry Division in Zamboanga del Norte) Brig. Gen Florante Martinez (OIC, 2nd Infantry Division in Tanay, Rizal) ; Maj. Gen. Vic Porto (CG, 3rd Infantry Division in Panay Island) ; Maj. Gen. Ralph Villanueva (CG, 7th Infantry Division in Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija) , Maj. Gen. Manuel Tabaquero (CG, 8th Infantry Division in Catbalogan, Samar); Maj. Gen. Reynaldo Mapagu (CG, 10th Infantry Division in Southern Mindanao); Maj. Gen. Oscar Rabena (Commanding General Air Force Chief), Brig. Gen Jesus Fajardo (CG, 710th Special Operations Wing), Col. Carlix Donila (commander, 530th Air Base Wing in Zamboanga); Commodore Feliciano Angue (chief of Naval staff) Commodore Nestor Los Banes (Commander, Naval station in Cavite); Rolito Abad (deputy chief 4th ID); Leon Nilo dela Cruz (Central Luzon police commander), Rodolfo Magtibay (Manila Police District); Roberto Rosales (National Capital Region police commander; Juancho Sabban (commandant of the Philippine Marine Corps.

These hawk officials dispersed all over the country have been the instruments and protectors in the covert martial ruling of the US- Arroyo regime.

Former 1001st Bde Commander Holganza, and 10th ID's Mapagu are after all, rabid devotees to their commander-in-chief Mrs. Arroyo, hence, the intensified conduct of extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary execution of 103 victims from 2001 to June 2009 in Southern Mindanao.

As the 2010 GRP elections approaches, the NDFP-Southern Mindanao warns the people to be vigilant in fighting last attempts of the Arroyo regime to continue its hold in power. The Arroyo regime has been notorious for saying one thing and doing another.

History will repeat itself and similar to Marcos's fate, the people will put an end to the dictatorship of this hated US-Arroyo regime.
