With deep sorrow, the various allied revolutionary organizations under National Democratic Front (NDF)-Negros mourn the passing of Ka Louie Jalandoni, beloved hero of Negrosanon masses and indefatigable warrior for just and lasting peace.
We remember him as the Negrosanon activist-priest who fought side by side with the farm workers in their struggle for just wage, humane working condition and benefits. We cannot forget his important role in the victorious strike launched by the workers of Central Azucarera de Bais in the ’80s.
We remember him as the propagator of the gospel of truth and liberation among the clergy and laity and won them over to the side of the struggling masses.
We remember him as the untiring peace negotiator who never wavered in pursuing the fundamental demands of the people at the negotiating table with the Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP) in the twists and turns of the peace talks.
We remember him as a people’s diplomat par excellence and a true internationalist.
We remember him as the revolutionary leader and proletarian cadre who helped navigated the movement in many of its crucial periods.
Above all, we remember Ka Louie as our beloved hero, who transcended his affluent landlord origin in Silay City, Negros Occidental and became one with the Negrosanon masses in their great struggle for national freedom and democracy.
With firm determination, we pledge to honor and uphold his revolutionary legacy and vow to carry forward his example of dedicated service to the masses, self-sacrificing devotion and loyalty to their interests and aspirations, and unwavering comnitment to revolutionary struggle.
Paalam, Ka Louie. Magpadayon kami tubtob sa kadalag-an.
