By Ka MARCELLA VALIENTE
Spokesperson, Armando Dumandan Command
New People's Army-Southern Mindanao

Ka Emong (Regenaldo Alicaba Sr.) of the Armando Dumandan Command of the New People's Army and who is the brother-in-law of Ka Parago was forcibly taken by armed men in a raid past midnight Sunday, January 18, in Purok 3, Barangay Cogon, Panabo City. The said armed men who are operatives of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, took Ka Emong along with his daughter, Rizalyn A. Manguilimutan, 27, a civilian and a mother of two.

Those operatives whose faces were concealed with bonnets treacherously barged into the house of Ka Emong's daughter where he was temporarily staying. He was on a medical leave, and has to receive continuous medication and regular check-up due to prostate enlargement that could possibly lead to prostate cancer.

We demand from the 10th Infantry Division-Eastern Mindanao Command of the AFP to immediately surface Ka Emong, unharmed and respect his rights as a prisoner of war and a non-combatant in line with the international humanitarian law. We demand from the AFP to immediately surface and release his daughter, Rizalyn, a civilian, in line with war protocols.
