Solidarity and revolutionary greetings on the 45th NPA anniversary

Dear comrades,

We hereby convey solidary and revolutionary greetings of the Central Committee of MLPD and the youth league REBELL on the occasion of today’s 45th anniversary of NPA (New People’s Army).

The founding of the New People’s Army in March 1969 under the leadership of the Communist Party of the Philippines drew a clear dividing line to revisionism and its betrayal of the liberation struggle with the illusion of the “peaceful way to socialism”.

With the NPA, the tradition of the guerrilla struggle in the Philippines was revived – and since then kept for 45 years now.

We got to know the revolutionary struggle in the Philippines and the work of NPA lively in the solidarity campaign “Freedom for the Philippines“ in the beginning of the 1990ies. The film “Green Guerrilla“ impressively showed that the NPA is not a militaristic organization, but leads the struggle linked with the masses, carries out a steady rank-and- file work to organize the people in their fields of work, and organizes educational work and political enlightenment.

The imperialists defame the armed struggle of the working class and the people’s masses as “terrorism“, while they themselves organize state terror.

We fully support the demand to release your comrades Benito Tiamzon, Wilma Austria and five other comrades, who were arrested on 22 March in breach of the regulations of the peace negotiation between NDF and the Philippine government.

Freedom for all political prisoners in the Philippines!
Long live the struggle of the working class and the people’s masses for national and social liberation on the Philippines!
Workers of all countries, unite!
Workers of all countries and oppressed people, unite!
Onward with the preparation of the international socialist revolution!
