The Kabataang Makabayan (KM)-Negros extends its firmest red salute to the Red commanders and fighters of the Apolinario Gatmaitan Command-New People’s Army (AGC-NPA) for its recent successful punitive actions against military spies and notorious criminal whose punishment are long over-due and demanded by the masses.
As per respective NPA-Negros commands’ statements, at least five of such actions were carried in northern and central parts of Negros in the last two weeks eliminating six enemy spies and criminals and, in the process, capturing assorted firearms and ammunitions.
Spies or intelligence assets are legitimate targets of the NPA being an integral part of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) fascist war machinery. Although not officially recognized and most often denied by military establishment, intelligence assets recruited and implanted by the AFP in the villages work closely with regular military intelligence officers and being handled by them.
To paint these individuals as civilians that should not be targeted by NPA is a misnomer. First off, these individuals are actual participants in the civil armed conflict between the Government of the Republic of the Philippines and the revolutionary forces led by the Communist Party of the Philippines. Their role is to provide intelligence information to the AFP by spying on the masses and the revolutionary movement. Although not officially part of uniformed military services, intelligence assets constitute an important components of their war machinery especially in the context of AFP’s concept of intelligence-driven operations.
Calls for the investigation of supposed “civilian killings” amounts to nothing but farce intended to malign the NPA and justify the practice of the AFP in employing disposable and deniable assets from the localities in their dirty war against the people and their revolutionary movement.
Inspired by these actions of the NPA, the various chapters of KM-Negros will intensity its efforts and campaign for the enlistment in the NPA among the youth grasping firmly the slogan “Sagot sa kahirapan, Digmang bayan!”
