The announced fund-raising “unity run” activity initiated by the NTF-Elcac is a desperate public relations gimmick aimed at covering-up the festering corruption within the NTF-Elcac and among scoundrels posing as “rebel returnees.”
This plan that supposedly seeks to “generate financial assistance” for “rebel returnees” is also a clear testament to the gross failure of the Marcos regime’s bogus “reintegration program” that is nothing but a racket of bureaucrat capitalists to defraud the people.
Officials of the NTF-Elcac line up their bulging pockets with funds from unaudited road construction and white elephant infrastructure projects under the ₱9-billion Barangay Development Program. They provide financial favors and perks to officers of the group known as Buklod Kapayapaan Federation Inc., who serve as willing pawns of the Marcos regime’s false peace program.
Leaders of this group are mostly traitors who turned their backs against the people, with some known to have run away with funds of the revolutionary movement. They make use of made up lists of “surrenderees” who were promised with “reintegration” but whom Marcos could not even provide with decent jobs and livelihood. They are now complicit in the regime’s ruthless campaign to harass activists to force them to “surrender” their ideals and coerce them to cooperate with the fascist regime.
The NTF-Elcac deserves the people’s deepest contempt for promoting this so-called Buklod group led by people notorious for having betrayed the masses’ aspirations for national freedom and democracy. These figures have been transformed into mercenaries now serving the interests of the Marcos puppet and fascist regime. They are the most glaring representatives of Marcos’ empty rhetoric of “peace and development” that seeks to conceal the continuing reality of national oppression and social injustice.
The Filipino people must be vigilant against these deceptive events and programs of the NTF-Elcac and its accomplices. It is imperative that they actively expose and repudiate these schemes that seek to manipulate the public’s perception and obscure their record of corruption and bloody political repression.
