NPA to give Red salute to Ka Louie Jalandoni on June 12

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) today directed New People’s Army (NPA) to give its Red salute on June 12 in recognition of Ka Luis G. Jalandoni, former chief negotiator of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP), and to honor him as a hero of the Filipino people.

According to CPP chief information officer Marco Valbuena, based on the instructions of the Party Central Committee, all units of the NPA will assemble on the break of dawn of June 12, fall into formation and perform a silent 21-gun salute. The message of the Central Committee honoring Ka Louie will be read.

“In recognition of Ka Louie’s exemplary and great contributions to the Filipino people’s revolutionary struggle, let us give him our firmest Red salute, and celebrate his extraordinary life,” said the Central Committee.

“Ka Louie showed unwavering commitment to the people’s revolutionary aspirations. To his last breath, he marched with the people in their struggles for national and social liberation. Comrade Louie sacrificed all personal and material interests and gave everything to the welfare of the masses,” the Central Committee added.

“Ka Louie rejected the reactionary government’s schemes to divide the people and make them surrender their ideals with appeals to personal interests or ambitions. Let us emulate Comrade Louie for his unending revolutionary commitment.”
