NDFP@53: Advance the Filipino people’s struggle for national and social liberation

On the occasion of the 53rd founding anniversary of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP), Compatriots-NDFP, the underground revolutionary mass organization of Filipinos overseas, extends its revolutionary greetings to the Filipino people and to all revolutionary forces steadfast in the struggle for national and social liberation.

Since its founding in 1973, the NDFP served as a united front to enjoin the participation of workers, peasants, youth, women, indigenous peoples, and other oppressed sectors, including Filipinos overseas, for the people’s war. It continues to play an important role in advancing the revolution in the Philippines for national sovereignty, social justice, and a just and lasting peace.

These aspirations remain ever true. The Filipino people face deep social inequality, widespread landlessness, unemployment, and political repression. These conditions continue under the domination of US imperialism, which continues to exert decisive influence over the country’s economic, political, and military direction. Through unequal agreements such as the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement, expanded troop presence, joint operations, and large-scale industrial projects to supply the US war machine, foreign forces maintain a strategic foothold across the archipelago. Rather than defending the Philippines, they reinforce dependency and prioritize policies that favor external interests. This same imperial reach is evident in ongoing military actions in Iran, which have resulted in civilian harm and regional destabilization. The consequences are not distant for Filipinos: overseas workers in the region face displacement and insecurity, while disruptions to remittances and rising oil prices further strain livelihoods at home.

Under the administration of Ferdinand Marcos Jr., corruption controversies tied to public funds have exposed the very nature of bureaucrat capitalism. At the same time, the impeachment case against Sara Duterte highlights intensifying rivalries among dominant political factions, and the impending proceedings involving Rodrigo Duterte before the International Criminal Court over his administration’s “war on drugs” underscore the persistence of impunity. Taken together, these developments reveal a political order in which state power is used for personal enrichment and factional advantage, closely tied to foreign interests. It is this system of bureaucrat capitalism that the Filipino people’s revolution seeks to confront.

In this context, Compatriots-NDFP reaffirms its commitment to the continuing struggle for national and social liberation back home. We resist foreign domination, feudal exploitation, and bureaucratic corruption. Genuine peace can only be achieved by uprooting these root issues and upholding the sovereign will of the Filipino people against US imperialism and its local lapdogs.

We call on Filipinos in the diaspora to take part in the armed revolution back home as well as friends of the Filipino people worldwide, to support the just struggle for a free, independent, and democratic Philippines. Let us contribute through active support and participation in the cause of the armed revolution, including by returning home to be part of the New Peoples Army. Let us strengthen our collective efforts to advance meaningful change towards socialism.

On this anniversary of the NDFP, we also honor all those who have dedicated their lives to the people’s cause. Their courage continues to inspire the ongoing struggle for a society that is just, sovereign, and free.

Long live the National Democratic Front of the Philippines!

Down with US-Marcos regime!

Down with US Imperialism!

Long live Compatriots-NDFP!

Long live the Filipino people!
