We, the National Democratic Front of the Philippines and all its allied organizations, convey our most heartfelt condolences to all of you on the passing away of the beloved Comrade Vilma Espín Guillois, Heroine of the Republic of Cuba, exemplary revolutionary fighter and outstanding advocate of women’s and children’s rights.
We hold in the highest regard her shining example of total dedication to the Cuban Revolution since the early days of the clandestine struggle, as a legendary guerrilla fighter, as founder and leader of the Federation of Cuban Women and as an outstanding comprehensive leader, until she passed away after a long and painful illness. We deeply admire her as a revolutionary internationalist.
Comrade Vilma Espín Guillois is an inspiration to the Filipino people in their revolutionary struggle for national liberation and democracy against US imperialism and the local reactionaries in the Philippines.
She is an inspiration to all revolutionary peoples and forces in Latin America and throughout the world in the struggle for national independence, democracy, socialism and just peace against imperialism and all reaction.
Long live the memory and example of Comrade Vilma Espín Guillois!
