The National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) vigorously condemns the unjust arrest and detention of the leaders of the indigenous people and peasants of Pampa del Indio, in the province of Chaco, namely: Martires Lopez, Simon Gonzalez, Liliana Delgado and Esteban Medina… The National Democratic Front of the Philippines, which includes organizations of indigenous peoples and national minorities as well as peasants, stands in strong solidarity with the indigenous peoples and peasants in Argentina in their just aspirations for genuine land reform, social justice, true democracy and peace.

The National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) vigorously condemns the unjust arrest and detention of the leaders of the indigenous people and peasants of Pampa del Indio, in the province of Chaco, namely: Martires Lopez, Simon Gonzalez, Liliana Delgado and Esteban Medina.
These leaders of the local Peasant Union (Union Campesina local), whose strong advocacy for the legitimate interests of peasants and indigenous peoples is well known throughout the country already for decades, were exercising their right to cultivate their small parcels of land and make them productive for the benefit of 600 families in Campo Medina in the area of Chaco.
The National Democratic Front of the Philippines, which includes organizations of indigenous peoples and national minorities as well as peasants, stands in strong solidarity with the indigenous peoples and peasants in Argentina in their just aspirations for genuine land reform, social justice, true democracy and peace.
We join the many organizations in Argentina, in Latin America, and other parts of the world in demanding the unconditional and immediate release of Martires Lopez, Simon Gonzalez, Liliana Delgado and Esteban Medina. Justice must be given to them and to their families, other relatives and to their organization for their unjust arrest and detention and the injury and damage caused to them.
