The National Democratic Front of the Philippines in Mindanao (NDFP-Mindanao) joins the Filipino people in condemning the decision of the reactionary Department of Justice, headed by the Arroyo lapdog Sec. Alberto Agra, clearing two of the most senior Ampatuan warlords, Gov. Zaldy Ampatuan, Sr. and Akmad Ampatuan, of all criminal charges, including multiple-murder, by doubting their involvement in conspiring to a mass murder, and ordering their removal from the list of suspects.
The Gloria Arroyo-dictated decision reeks of sheer evil because, with it, the Arroyo government affirms and conspires with Ampatuan terrorism and, in effect, become accomplices to the brutal Maguindanao massacre.
With this shameless decision, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, who may have again cornered a hefty sum in bribe money, unleashes her wardogs 23 days before the elections to wreak havoc in Mindanao, which increases the potentiality for poll failure. This is undoubtedly another election maneuver of the US-backed Arroyo regime to secure the victory of its loyal congressmen in the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao and pave the way for its alleged shadow president to win.
For Arroyo and her minions, a modus operandi this brazen is always and simply a question of how much money and how much votes could be had to secure victory in the upcoming polls. These, over all, favor Arroyo's objective to maintain her hold and influence on government beyond the elections in May, that is, if ever the polls succeed.
The DOJ order sets a dangerous precedent that allows one to get away with foul murder. The decision is tantamount to the exoneration of the Ampatuan warlords, which only reveals that the justice system of the reactionary Arroyo government is nothing but a devious facade. With this, the US-Arroyo regime entirely abandons the victims of the Maguindanao massacre, as well as their families, media workers, supporters, and the people. The bourgeois government sides instead with the murderers. Gloria Arroyo and her courts of "injustice" never, in the first place, had the intention of bringing the Ampatuan warlords, the monster it has armed and bred in recent years, to justice.
The Filipino people had been duped, played all along by the Arroyo government. The steps taken, from the declaration of Martial Law in Maguindanao to the finely-scripted drama of the arrest and actual detention of the Ampatuans, were done not to mete out punishment for the foremost Maguindanao warlords, but to save Arroyo's terror and election fraud machinery in Mindanao.
With the reactionary courts, especially the Arroyo-handpicked Supreme Court, merely acting as extensions of the dirty and fascist politics of its master, the US-Arroyo regime, there is no doubt now that the Ampatuan warlords would go scot-free. They will again be handed the privilege to rampage and commit murder in Maguindanao, and the rest of Mindanao.
The justice system of the reactionary regime is rotten to the core. Contrary to the puppet regime's brand of justice, the revolutionary movement's judicial process is democratic, just, and based on the respect for human rights and humanitarian laws. It punishes atrocious enemies of the people, especially those whose hands are bathed in blood.
The NDFP-Mindanao challenges all politicians running in this year's polls, especially those who seek the presidency, to vehemently condemn this latest travesty of justice committed by the Arroyo government, and set in motion concrete steps against this.
Further, the NDFP-Mindanao calls upon the people not to let their guard down against the Ampatuan warlords and continue with utmost vigilance in demanding that these blood-drenched warfreaks be brought to justice!
We must not allow the nation to be run over by warlords, criminal syndicates, and plain terrorists, which are presently headed by the US-Arroyo regime!
