[UTRECHT, 16 Dec] Officials of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines held an impromptu press conference with journalists from the Philippines in Schiphol airport, in the Netherlands, on 14 December 2012, to speak about the economic and political situation in the Philippines, as well as the prospects of peace negotiations with the government of the Republic of the Philippines (GPH). NDFP Negotiating Panel Chairperson Luis G. Jalandoni and NDFP Chief Political Consultant Jose Maria Sison met for two hours with the group of journalists who were in transit going back to Manila.
The Philippine journalists were in Oslo, Norway upon the invitation of the Norwegian Union of Journalists to share their common work experience, and exchanged ideas on how to strengthen the union among journalists. The group was led by Rowena Paraan, Secretary General of the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP). Also in the group were NUJP Vice President Alwyn Alburo of GMA-7; Julia Alipala of the Philippine Daily Inquirer; Roger Sending of RMN Manila; and Tonyo Cruz, representing Philippine bloggers.
