Tribute to Fidel Agcaoili

The Filipino Resource Center bestows on Ka Fidel Agcaoili the highest tribute for his work to achieve active peace and justice in the Philippines.
The Filipino community in Norway has long witnessed, supported and hoped that peace will finally be achieved in the Philippines and welcomed the efforts of the National Democratic Front’s through its tireless leaders to work out a viable solution to bring this hope in fruition.
We recognize Ka Fidel’s sacrifice in taking on the helm of the negotiating panel after Ka Louie Jalandoni as he took on the gargantuan task of keeping the peace ship sailing despite the rough seas of negotiations, setbacks and slow progress.
He is also to be credited for not losing the faith, for his unwavering faith on the Filipino people and the Philippines, and his commitment to work for peace and justice in our land. His years of service to the cause of freedom, democracy and peace will be remembered.
We know that our work to bring closer to the Filipinos and the Norwegians the issues of peace, justice and human rights will be inspired by Ka Fidel’s faith and hope for the Philippines.
Rest in power, Tats. And we send our warmest greetings to your comrades in faith, your loving family and the Filipino people everywhere who believe in your dreams.
