Dear family, friends and members of the NDFP Peace Panel,
Heartfelt condolences with the death of Fidel V. Agcaoili! Physically no
longer with us since July 23.
The Dutch-Philippine Solidarity Movement offers its condolences to his
family, friends, members of the NDFP Peace Panel and pays tribute to his
commitment for a just and lasting peace in the Philippines.
In memory for his unwavering commitment for Just and Lasting Peace!
We were very shocked to learn that Fidel had died. A great man in
action. A great man in determination and commitment to work on the major problems in his country.
Great respect for his significant contribution for reaching major
agreement within the GRP-NDFP Peace Negotiations. Great respect for his
performance for the Joint Monitoring Committee. Since 2016 he was the
chairperson of the NDFP Peace Panel. It was not Fidel’s fault that there
is no peace and justice in the Philippines yet.
It was an honor for us to know Ka Fidel. A man who has been imprisoned
10 years for his commitment for Peace and Justice. A man who has stood
up for marginalized people all his life, fought for justice all his
life, fought for the release of political prisoners all his life – at
home and abroad.
It was a great honor to receive the document “The GRP-NDFP Peace
Negotiations – Major Written Agreements & Outstanding Issues” personally
from Fidel. A lasting memory!
We wish everyone a lot of strength in coping with the big loss. We
always remain connected through Fidel’s achievements for Peace and
Justice – Fidel’s mind and spirit will last forever.
Sincerely,
On behalf of the Board,
Theo Droog
